On October 10, 2018, 95 Armstrong Elementary School students walked or biked to school. This event is celebrated yearly to promote observation and experience. Students “get to appreciate things they don’t notice while driving – listening to the sounds of the neighborhood, seeing friends and neighbors and feeling connected with their community” (“Why Walk,” n.d.) Walk & Bike to School day also promotes an active lifestyle, leading to healthy habits of daily physical exercise and safety awareness.
