Thirty-six third through sixth grade Armstrong students were honored for their participation in Learning Ally’s Great Reading Games on Friday, March 16. According to the Learning Ally website, “The Great Reading Games gives Learning Ally schools a chance to engage students to read the most to win recognition and prizes. This 2-month event was awarded honorable mention from the National Book Foundation and has helped schools celebrating all readers as they achieve reading success.”
Together the AES students read 23,201 pages and 19.733 minutes in the weeks between January 22 and February 23. Students celebrated with pizza and recognition of top grade level readers who received a $5 gift certificate to the upcoming Armstrong ES Bookfair. Every participant received a keychain with charms to signify the number of pages they achieved.
